Citizen Angel is proud to provide financial support to Sakhi for Girls Education in Mumbai, India. Sakhi operates a girls’ learning center in the slums of Mumbai, providing girls with books, literacy education, and life skills training. Since 2008, founder Aarti Naik, a young woman “Changemaker,” has been building educational capacities for slum girls through Sakhi’s community-based after-school program. Today more than 300 girls attend programs at Sakhi’s learning space in their own community.
We provide fiscal sponsorship and fundraising support to the Thriving Women in Business Giving Circle in San Francisco, California. Since 2012, this dynamic group of Bay Area women has been gathering for tea and raising funds for women and girls in the developing world.
Citizen Angel volunteers participate in making reusable sanitary protection kits for Days for Girls International. Distributed to girls in the developing world, these kits help girls stay in school by providing an affordable, sustainable feminine hygiene solution.
